Tailgate Lock

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

1. Remove the tailgate trim panel.
2. Remove the three screws attaching the locking mechanism to the door housing.

3. Disconnect the linkage from the door lock.

4. On power locks, disconnect the harness form the solenoid.

   Fig. 4: Detach the wiring from the solenoid on power locking type models

5. Detach the cable from the latch, then extract the assembly from the vehicle.

   Fig. 5: Separate the cable from the latch . . .

   Fig. 6: . . . now extract the assembly from the door

6. Attach the cable to the latch.
7. Secure the wiring (if equipped) and linkage to the assembly.
8. Postion the assembly into the body of the vehicle and secure with the retaining screws.
9. Install the secure the tailgate trim panel.
